Frequently Asked Questions
What kind of gallery is A.T.Hun ?
Great question! As Chuck likes to say, we are an “edgy” art gallery located in the heart of Savannah's historic district. Here, you can be certain to find a wide selection of nontraditional, unique, unusual, funky, and, most of all, beautiful art. We select our 20 – 25 artists based on their pure artistic dedication. Their art must come from their heart rather than from business motives. We were elected as the city’s BEST art gallery, featuring local and international contemporary artists in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. And we are proud of it.

Where to find us, and what to find besides art ?
Located in the heart of Savannah, Georgia, our location is easy to find. Located at 302 West Saint Julian Street, at the corner of Jefferson Street and Saint Julian Street, we are right on City Market in Georgia’s historic district. With several parking lots around, close proximity to River Street and Bay Street, you can find restaurants, bars, and live music all around before, or after, you come visit us. For the little historic note, our building used to be the market where the prices of seeds and cotton were decided worldwide. We have a great air conditioner during the hot Savannah summer, and we barely need to use the heater during the winter. Most importantly, we have art, sculptures, jewelry, funny cards, hilarious, naughty magnets...lots to enjoy! During the weekend, you may run into Chuck Hamilton, the happy owner of the gallery and a great artist, who entertains guests who browse for art by proving that he is also a talented piano player. Guess a song and you may even receive a discount! Fun. Only fun. Art, great art. Smiles. Always smiles. Hours : our "basic open hours" are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 10 am to 9pm Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday 10am to 10pm Please notice that we do have a slightly different schedule depending the seasons. |
What is a “Metallic print” ?
Chuck Hamilton does most of his prints this way : the art is printed on a transparency sheet with a metallic paper on the back of it. The more light you shine on the print, the more intense the colors are. It is a really cool effect. You absolutely have to check it out.
What’s a giclée?
The word giclée originates from a French word meaning "sprayed ink." A good quality giclée print reproduces the fine details of the original artwork at a very high permanence and resolution. It can be in full color or in black & white, and can be printed on paper or canvas. It is sealed and protected against UV. Giclées are a great value, offering very high quality reproductions for a great price. It provides the beauty of the canvas, without the bigger price tag of an original painting.
What a Lithograph?
Lithography (from Greek λίθος - lithos, 'stone' + γράφειν - graphein, 'to write') was invented in 1796 by German author and actor Alois Senefelder. A lithograph is a complex way to reproduce a painting and make a print.. It is a high resolution print made from by means of a chemical process, rather than today's common digital print. The lithographer draws an image with a special greasy crayon on a dampened stone or an aluminum plate before using a roller to apply ink on it. The wet stone repels the greasy ink but sticks to the image. When printed, a
lithograph is a mirror image of the original.
Today we find more digital prints than lithograph
What a "Glass Painting" ?
Lately, Chuck has a lot of fun doing what he calls "Glass Painting"
He does paint - reverse -on a piece of glass. Then with a special medium, he glues the painting itself on a canvas and peel it from the glass.
Result : the surface is really smooth and has gorgeous colors
Did I say that he loves to play with different mediums, different technics?
Examples of Glass Paintings : 'Adoration", "The Aha Moment", "The State of Being in Love" ....

Can you ship? What‘s the cost?
The cost of shipping depends on what you want to ship and to where. An original painting on canvas shipped to Colorado will cost more than a print shipped next door, to Atlanta for example. For prints, shipping is more straightforward, and we can assure you that the shipping for up to 3 prints will be $19 and delivered by Fedex. This includes wrapping, the shipping, the insurance, and an email telling you when your order will be shipped and delivered. Concerning original paintings, giclées, orders of more than 3 prints, or any other specific cases, dont hesitate to contact our wonderful A.T.Hun team members for more information on shipping. In fact, you can just ask them just about whatever you want to ask. Do you ship outside of the United States ? We also do international shipping through the US Postal Service. As you guessed, the cost is higher. For international orders, please contact us for shipping rates. You may place on order online but we will contact you for the payment of shipping |
